Part of Herzegovina was hit by an earthquake last night. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) stated that the epicenter of the 3.3-magnitude earthquake was 34 kilometers from Mostar, or 17 kilometers from Široki Brijeg.
According to the statements of citizens published on the EMSC website, the shaking of the ground was strongly felt. The earthquake woke some while they were sleeping. The ground also shook in the area of Dalmatia. It hit the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute stated that an earthquake of magnitude 3.7 was registered tonight with the epicenter in the Posušja region.
The estimated intensity in the epicentral zone was five degrees on the Mercalli scale, and the earthquake was registered 23 minutes after midnight.
According to data from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, the epicenter of this earthquake was in Grude, and the magnitude was 3.6 degrees.
Apart from BiH, the earthquake was registered by seismological centers in Croatia and Slovenia.
There are no reports of injuries or material damage.
Otherwise, an earthquake of this intensity cannot cause damage to buildings, and the population in the epicentral zone can feel it.
