Tanzelarija: People With Disabilities Also Have the Right to Dance

Tanzelarija‘Tanzelarija’, an organization for the promotion of contemporary dance in B&H, has been operational for five years, and this year its work has been marked by special courses-project with the aim to include people with disabilities.

‘Tanzelarija’ is the initiator and organizer of the project ‘Right to Art’, which was created with the support of the FB&H Ministry of Culture and Sport, and in cooperation with the dance organization NDA Slovenia.

The aim of this project is to contribute to the development of performing arts in B&H, as well as the active prevention of cultural isolation of people with disabilities through events, and of course media attention that was secured for the duration of the project.

‘’If the point of civil society is for all people to have equal opportunities in a particular area, then participation in the artistic and cultural life, as well as participation in the process of creation and creation of one’s own work of art, is a fundamental right of a person with disabilities’’, said Nevena Planinšek, PR Manager of ‘Tanzelarija’ Organization.
