Ten BiH Companies get a Certificate for Export to the EU Market

certificatesOn the occasion of successful implementation of the project “Introduction of BAS EN ISO 3834 standard in BiH companies”, a ceremony was held yesterday at the Foreign Trade Chamber (VTK) of BiH where ten companies from economy sector that got this certificate were presented.

Vice-President of the VTK BiH Nemanja Vasić highlighted that the aim of the project is education and increasing of export for ten BiH companies in the metal sector during the introduction of the standard of quality and safety through the process of ISO 3834 certification.

Vasić pointed out that the project is intended for companies in metal and electrical industry of BiH that perform the technological process of welding. Given the increasingly demanding market, certification of the process of welding is a precondition for companies in metal sector for the export to the market of EU and the world.

During seven months, nine engineers and five technologists were trained to weld and melt metals, so the following companies got this important certificate: A&F Ltd. Jajce, Alumina Ltd. Živinice, Bosna-S Ltd. Sarajevo, Elmont Ltd. Žepče, GS-TMT JSC Travnik, Femetall Ltd. Zenica, Fining Ltd. Gračanica, Metal Industry Prijedor, Monting Energetika Ltd. Trebinje and Krivaja Metali Ltd. Zavidovići.

The project was implemented with financial support by the USAID/Sida project of improving local development (USAID/Sida GOLD Project), and Saša Kotlica from the USAID said that the main aim of this project is to provide support for local communities in economic development, attracting investments and the opening of new workplaces.

The project was worth 380.000 BAM.
