Zenica is today the center of business meetings. The General Fair of BiH Economy ZEPS was officially opened. The twenty-ninth international edition of this fair, under the slogan “Growing Together”, attracted businessmen from 15 countries, and among the numerous exhibitors, in addition to domestic businessmen, there are also Turkish companies. The goal of this year’s fair is to establish the best possible regional cooperation among businessmen, but also to present Bosnian and Herzegovinan products of interest to markets such as the European Union.
On 22,000 square meters of fair space, around 500 exhibitors with around 2,000 brands from 15 countries in the region and the world will present their products and business ideas. It is also an opportunity for domestic companies.
“This is a place where you can meet many people, where you can hear many new trends in the economy, business, and politics that accompany our work,” said the representative of the exhibiting company, Damir Husaković.
The participation of Turkish companies and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce reflects the previously established partnership with the Republic of Turkey.
“We have feedback from the Republic of Turkey that all exhibitors who participated are satisfied and this year we have 50 exhibitors, which means that we are on the right track and that we are growing together,” emphasized Sanel Ibrić, manager of the General Fair of BiH Economy ZEPS 2025.
In addition to promoting Bosnian and Herzegovina’s products and resources, panel discussions in the coming days will seek answers to the challenges that lie ahead for the domestic economy, especially through the conditions set by our most important market, the European Union.
“We must find a way to take our place in new geopolitical, geostrategic developments. It is obvious that supply chains are shifting, new ones are being formed, Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to take its place and it is slowly taking it, but in general there are a lot of challenges,” said Ahmet Egrlić, president of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Along with the Tešanj Fair, the ZEPS Economic Fair is another confirmation that the economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton occupies a very important place in the BiH economy.
“This is also confirmed by the indicators in the first four months of this year, which showed that the Zenica-Doboj Canton achieved a surplus in terms of imports and exports in a positive sense. It seems that we are the only canton that has done this and this is confirmation that we want the development of the economy,” said Nezir Pivić, Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Holding such fairs is also important for the economy of the Federation, because it is businessmen who create a better environment with their work and better cooperation, but for all this they also need the support of the government.
“The Federation Government has shown through some of its moves, by relieving the burden on the economy, working on fiscal reform, and increasing the minimum wage how much it cares about the interests of workers, but also about the protection of employers. In the period ahead, we should complete these steps and create a better and more favorable environment for investment, better working conditions, and a better standard of workers,” stressed Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH.
The General Fair of BiH Economy ZEPS, which was renewed last year after a break of several years, will last until September 13. In the coming days, numerous meetings and presentations will be held at the fairgrounds on Kamberovića Polje, with special emphasis placed on strengthening regional cooperation among businesspeople, Federalna writes.
