The association “Renaissance” on Saturday organized a performance titled “Five to 12” in order to draw attention to the condition in which oncology patients find themselves. Their request is the finding of a systemic solution in both entities, because the disease does not recognize cantons, cities, or entities.
Enida Glusac, president of the association Renaissance, noted that in Canton Sarajevo (CS) and Bosnian-Podrinje Canton (BPC) the situation is a bit better in relation to the other cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), but that it is still far from bearable, and that they will not stop warning until every oncology patient in BiH receives timely and adequate treatment.
“We are grateful for every step forward, but it must be kept in mind that there is still a large number of patients without therapy, that we lag behind the world when it comes to new therapies, and that we still wait for hundreds of oncology patients to be in a position to even get onto the waiting list, that is, for indications to be expanded,” said Glusac.
A hundred sick persons participated in the emotional performance with the desire that citizens, but also those responsible, understand how many problems, besides the severe illness, oncology patients go through.
