The BH Police Officers departed to the South Sudan

BH Peace Mission Sudan avaz.baTen BH police officers, four female officers and six policemen, departed this morning from Sarajevo to the Peacekeeping Mission UNMISS to South Sudan, for a term of one year.

The peacekeepers were seen off by the Minister of Security of B&H Dragan Mektic who wished them success and said he is convinced that they will, as their colleagues earlier, show a high level of knowledge, expertise, professional and human relation during the mission, and serve for the pride of agencies from which they come and B&H as well.

Mektic added that B&H is no longer only the user and the recipient of international civilian-military aid, but also an active participant in creating international security.

The police officers who departed to South Sudan this morning are Irena Marelja (Border Police of B&H), Mersiha Husakovic-Cehajic (MIA of the RS), Sandra Basanovic (MIA of Una-Sana Canton), Lejla Hajro (MIA of Sarajevo Canton), Davor Jovovic (SIPA), Armin Arslan (SIPA), Almir Bolic (Directorate for the coordination of police bodies of B&H), Sanel Mrdjanovic (Directorate for the coordination of police bodies of B&H), Enver Alibegovic (MIA of Una-Sana Canton) and Erik Vrbanjac (MIA of Central Bosnia Canton).

A total of 251 police officers from B&H participated in the peace support operations since 2000 until today, including peace missions in Liberia, South Sudan, Cyprus, East Timor, and Haiti.
