The Body of the murdered Activist was transferred from the West Bank to Turkey

The body of the Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was brought to the airport in Istanbul, seven days after she was killed in the West Bank.

The governor of Istanbul and other officials lined up in front of the coffin wrapped in the Turkish flag.

Twenty-six years old Eygi was killed while participating in a protest regarding the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

The funeral should be held tomorrow in the city of Didim, on the coast of the Aegean Sea, where her family lives.

Israel has acknowledged that its soldiers shot her, who was educated in Washington and holds Turkish and American citizenship, but claims it was unintentional during demonstrations that turned violent.

Washington announced that the killing was unacceptable, while Ankara announced that it would request international arrest warrants for those responsible.
