Everything is the same, only Milorad Dodik is officially no longer in the Palace of the President of Republika Srpska. The budget of the President of Republika Srpska for 2026 will be increased from this year’s 77 to 80 million marks. Dodik is still being asked about everything, according to analysts.
Same story every year. The President of Republika Srpska receives a budget increase as a New Year’s gift. This year the gift is bigger by 3 million marks and the Cabinet of the President of the RS will have an incredible 80 million marks available in 2026. In the Assembly, the opposition criticized this allocation for the Palace of the RS. They have no doubts that the former president will dispose of the money.
“He gets 80 million, and now there is a public debate because a world legend in basketball has a contract of 200,000 euros, and that was amazing, he spent 20 million, he has no title, so the pressure is on. This man here has 80 million, which he wants to spend through someone else’s hand. If the CEC is not in the service of the mafia, maybe next year, maybe we will have a rebalance right after Christmas,” says Nebojša Vukanović, a member of the List for Justice and Order in to the NSRS.
According to analysts, the increase in the budget for the president’s cabinet has to do with the fact that 2026 is an election year.
“The fact that there is no Dodik has no importance considering that there are elections next year. The fact that there is no Dodik does not matter because the elections are next year and it is obvious that the funds will have to be withdrawn from wherever possible and in any way and to be pumped for the elections, especially in these conditions where the SNSD is aware that it has barely won these elections,” says journalist Goran Dakić.
Milorad Dodik, even though he is no longer the president, comes to work every day as if he were the president of the RS. It uses all resources from the RS budget, and also participates in the protocol during events organized by the Government and government institutions.
“Dodik is not in the Palace only formally, he is still the president without a portfolio. He will probably, as before, order where the money will go. We have also seen in previous days that he decides where the money from the president’s cabinet will go, so I have no doubt that it will be the same now,” claims political analyst Stefan Blagić.
By the way, the budget of the President of Republika Srpska grows by several million marks every year. It is the largest in the region, and is larger than the budget of most ministries in the Government of the Republika Srpska.
