Representatives of the Troika parties – the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the People and Justice (NiP) and Our Party (NS) – sent a sharp message to the citizens of Republika Srpska today, reacting to what they say is a “confused and frightened statement” by Nenad Stevandić, the President of the RS National Assembly.
Stevandić, the representatives say, tried to deceive the public with statements that are “not only incorrect, but also dangerous for the stability of the state”. In a joint statement, they state that they are making the announcement “not because of Stevandić’s fugitive and irrelevant political affiliation, but because of the citizens of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska, whom he constantly lies about and disavows”.
The representatives refute in detail the allegations from Stevandić’s statement, starting with his claims about the Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
“First of all, SIPA is not an armed agency from the FBiH, as Stevandić falsely defines it, but a state agency for investigation and protection that has the authority to operate on the territory of the entire BiH,” they point out, adding that SIPA, among other things, also acts in cases of war crimes and crimes against humanity – which, as they state, is of particular concern to Stevandić, whom they call “the owner of the red van.”
They also referred to the role of EUFOR, which, as they claim, has been misinterpreted by Stevandić.
“EUFOR’s mandate is to preserve peace and stability, territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH, as well as to assist in the implementation of judicial decisions. EUFOR has the right to take necessary actions, including the use of necessary force, in accordance with Annex 1A and UN Security Council Resolution 2757 (2024),” they remind.
The most condemnation, as they say, was caused by Stevandić’s “warmongering messages.”
“In Bosnia and Herzegovina, only ultranationalist secessionists like Stevandić want new conflicts in order to achieve their chauvinistic dreams, preserve their property and protect their personal interests by sacrificing others,” Troika said.
They concluded with the message:
“This is not the 1990s for Stevandić, and you will never again be able to take away and terrorize civilians in a red van because you don’t like their name, origin or religion. This time it will be the other way around – you will very soon be taken away in a blue SIPA van, where you belong – to face justice.”
