Representatives of the Lebanese Hezbollah stated that they are still making preparations for an attack on Israel, and on this occasion, CNN analyzed the arsenal of weapons that this Lebanese military organization possesses.
In an extensive analysis, CNN points out that Hezbollah is probably the most armed non-state actor in the world.
“While no match for Israel’s military might, Hezbollah’s increasingly sophisticated arsenal has the potential to inflict significant damage on Israel and its allies in the region,” it said.
Israel would also have to contend with Hezbollah’s strategic depth.
“Following the 1982 Israeli invasion of Beirut, there was a huge increase in Hezbollah’s military and political power. In 2000, Hezbollah guerrillas forced Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon, ending an occupation that had lasted more than 20 years.” , they explain.
When it comes to Hezbollah’s capabilities, CNN states that the group possesses several types of missiles.
These are primarily Katyushas with a range of four to 40 kilometers.
This is followed by Falaq-1 and Fajr-5 missiles with a range of up to 75 kilometers.
Longer-range missiles are Zelzal-1 (up to 160 kilometers), Fateh-110 (300 kilometers) and Scud-B/C/D, whose range is up to 500 kilometers.
It is assumed that Hezbollah has operationally up to 200,000 rockets of all categories.
In addition to rockets, a major problem for Israel in a potential conflict could also be drones, and Hezbollah has a total of five types of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Mirsad spacecraft has a range of 120 kilometers, the Mohajer 4 spacecraft has a range of 150 kilometers, the Ma’arab spacecraft has a range of 200 kilometers, and the Karrar and Shahed spacecraft have a range of 1,000 and 2,000 kilometers, respectively.
“During the decades-long conflict, Hezbollah has engaged in asymmetric warfare. It has sought to increase its political and military power, while at the same time establishing deterrence despite Israel’s superiority,” CNN’s analysis points out.
