The Construction of a Wind Farm worth 160 Million Euros is starting in BiH

The total value of the project is 160 million euros, with the construction work on site alone amounting to 26.5 million euros.

The story of the construction of the Siroka Draga wind farm near Livno, on the southern slope of Mount Kamesnica at an altitude of 1.517 meters, close to the border with Croatia, has become relevant again these days.

After signing a consulting and supervision contract with the German firm Krebs+Kiefer International from Darmstadt, IMRES Smart Greenergy d.o.o. has also signed a contract for the construction work on the Siroka Draga wind farm.

It is an impressive project with a wind farm capacity of 125 MW and an annual production of about 400 GWh of electricity, which is enough to supply 95.000 households.

“The total value of the project is 160 million euros, with the construction work on site alone amounting to 26.5 million euros,” says Pero Vrdoljak, Director of IMRES Smart Greenergy.

Although very demanding due to the karst terrain, the project is of exceptional importance to the contractor.

“Through this project, the next two years will guarantee employment for about 120 people. We will undertake the complete construction of access roads to all locations and the foundations of wind turbines, 19 foundations, and about 20 kilometers of roads,” stated Tomislav Badrov, Director of Roco-Commerce Livno.

To ensure compliance with European Union (EU) standards and regulations, the German consulting firm has been responsible for overseeing the procurement process, preparing tender documentation, and contract with the contractor.

“In the next phase, we will be engaged as the supervisor on the client’s side in the role of FIDIC engineer, as this will be the basis for signing a FIDIC contract, as is standard practice for internationally funded projects,” explains Lidomir Teklic, representative of Krebs+Kiefer International.

Vrdoljak emphasized that the contract for the construction of the Siroka Draga wind farm was signed with a local firm that meets all international requirements and standards.

Additionally, this investment will include a variable part of the costs related to the construction of 44.6 kilometers of transmission line, which will connect the wind farm to the electricity grid of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), specifically connecting to the existing transmission line Rama – Posusje, Biznis Info writes.
