The Dragons near saying Goodbye to the League of Nations

The football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated by Hungary in one of the key duels for survival in the company of the best League of Nations. The Hungarians celebrated with a score of 2:0 in Zenica.

Surrounded by a solid game against the favored Germans, and a draw against the same selection of Hungary a month ago in Budapest, the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed the Hungarians in Zenica with a lot more optimism, but in the end it did not bring a result.

The beginning of the game heralded a good result for the Dragons. Already in the 30th second, Jusuf Gazibegović took advantage of a mistake by the visitors’ defense, but he shot wide.

Two good attempts by the Hungarians followed, and then the best action for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the match. In the 14th minute, Haris Hajradinović left a great return ball for Benjamin Tahirović, but his shot went wide of the Hungarian post.

After those two chances for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the guests played well and showed that they came to Zenica with three points each. Boll and Varga tried for the guests, but their shots were tamed by goalkeeper Vasilj.

When the situation on the field calmed down at the end of the first half, we conceded a goal at the worst possible moment. Zsoltan Nagy pushed a great ball for Dominic Szoboszlai, and the Liverpool midfielder hits the BiH net from a turn.

Before the break, Edin Dzeko could have leveled the score, but he was inaccurate after the kick in stoppage time. He shot over the goal, and the half ended with a score of 1:0 for the visitors.

The second half could not have started worse for the Dragons. Debutant Nail Omerović, who entered the game at halftime, saved a penalty after only five minutes of his debut, and Szoboszlai checked our goalkeeper for the second time tonight.

In the next attack, BiH could get back into the game. Edin Dzeko was alone in front of the Hungarian goal, but his header was brilliantly saved by Dibusz.

On two more occasions, Dzeko showed why he is still an irreplaceable member of our national team, and until the end he was the only threat to the Hungarians’ goal. However, the goalkeeper Dibusz came out as the winner on both occasions, and the defense after Dzeko’s fifth attempt from the 70th minute stands out.

By the end of the game, the Hungarians easily maintained their advantage and thus achieved a great victory against the Dragons. BiH is now the last in the table with only one point, while the Hungarians jumped to five points and are safe in third place.

This means that the Dragons are almost certainly saying goodbye to the elite league of this competition. We have remaining matches against the Netherlands and Germany, and we would need two victories to stay in the elite of the League of Nations. In the next match, BiH will visit Germany on November 16.

Thus ended another difficult night for the fans of the BiH national team, of which there have been many for many years. There is no result, and the fans have had their say – they left the stands ten minutes before the end of the match, Klix.ba writes.
