The Embassy of Russia in Bosnia and Herzegovina made an announcement regarding yesterday’s imposition of technical changes to the Election Law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was imposed by the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, using the Bonn powers.
The Russian Embassy announced that they express “the most serious concern caused by the constant attempts of the USA and Great Britain to destabilize the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the hands of their illegitimate protégé Christian Schmidt, whom they represent as the High Representative”.
“We would like to remind you that the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be appointed with the approval of the UN Security Council. Without this approval, no candidate for this position has the mandate of the High Representative, let alone the tool complex of Bonn powers. The so-called decisions of German citizen Christian Schmidt are illegal and have no legal consequences for Bosnia and Herzegovina”, they state in the statement.
They asserted that changes to the legislation of BiH can and must be carried out exclusively within the dialogue of legitimate representatives of the three equal constituent peoples of BiH and the two entities with broad constitutional powers.
“We will consider any introduction into the legal field of BiH of neo-colonial initiatives invented in the Anglo-Saxon embassies in Sarajevo as a direct violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, whose guarantor is the Russian Federation. We are convinced that the constituent peoples of BiH have every right to implement measures to protect the Dayton foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina as and its entities from external attacks. We insist on the immediate and complete cessation of functioning of international supervision in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the transfer of all power to local parties,” the Russian Embassy concludes.
