The European Union condemned North Korea for today’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile and said it was a “flagrant violation of several United Nations Security Council resolutions.”
In the announcement of the European Union, it was stated that such actions are illegal and that they threaten both regional and international peace and security.
“North Korea must immediately fulfill its obligations under the Security Council Resolution by getting rid of its nuclear weapons, other weapons of mass destruction, ballistic missile programs and existing nuclear programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner and ceasing all related activities,” it said in the announcement.
In the announcement, they added that North Korea will never have the status of a state with nuclear weapons, and that it must immediately comply with the agreement on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, as well as that it is of crucial importance that all UN member states fully apply sanctions on North Korea.
