Until September 1st, seven free concerts of the world and domestic musicians will be held, who will present themselves on the stages of the Home of Armed Forces of B&H, the National Museum of B&H, and the Sarajevo Music Academy.
The theme of this year’s SCMF is the “out of the box ” concept, literally meaning “thinking beyond regular limits”, beyond the established norms. The program includes some of the most controversial works of the compositors such as Beethoven, Schumann, Listz, the eminent revolutionaries in the history of music, as well as of more recent names such as Charles Ives, Olivier Messian, Georg Crumb, Albano Bergo.
Besides the resident ensemble – the Manhattan String Quartet, the pianist Kemal Gekic will perform, as well as Stephen Gosling, to whom the best BH flutist Sakib Lacevic will join.
The piano duo Stephanie & Saar will perform valuable pieces of the 20th century music, while the Turkish duo Hakan Sensoy and Safak Eriskin will bring the chamber music for strings by the modern European and Turkish compositors.
The SCMF is being realized with the support of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of B&H, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, organized by the Music Academy in Sarajevo and the Manhattan String Quartet.
