The Ravna Planina Ski Center plans to construct the first indoor ski hall in the Balkans.
According to the ski center, the hall will feature a 350-meter-long ski slope, a vertical drop of 100 meters, and a width of 45 meters, and it will be powered by renewable energy sources.
“In response to climate change, which significantly affects winter tourism, the idea emerged for a project that would enable year-round skiing, regardless of the season and weather conditions. The ski slope, snow park, cross-country skiing track, sledding area, and baby park will cover an area of 16.000 square meters,” states the Ski Center’s announcement.
The entire project is expected to be completed within five years.
Ravna Planina Ski Center boasts 12 kilometers of groomed ski trails, snowmaking facilities, and night skiing. It also has the necessary infrastructure for hosting international FIS competitions. In addition to existing accommodation and restaurants, a hotel with spa facilities and a conference room is currently under construction.
Ravna Planina was the first ski center in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to install the most modern gondola lift.
