Borjana Kristo (HDZ) is the first choice for the chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). This was announced by HDZ leader Dragan Covic, and her mandate must first be decided by the BiH Presidency.
The situation here is quite certain. Two votes are enough to confirm the decision. Zeljko Komsic (DF), as he has stated many times before, will vote against such a proposal, due to the well-known relationship between the DF and the HDZ.
So, two votes will be enough for her appointment as a chairperson. It is clear that Zeljka Cvijanovic (SNSD) will support this, and due to the coalition agreement of the Eight with HDZ, Denis Becirovic (SDP) should also do so.
This will be the first decision in which we can expect a split between Komsic and Becirovic, a duo who are presented as a pro-Bosnian option.
Based on the coalition agreement that was signed and which is being implemented, the government at the state level should consist of parties of the Eight and the HDZ and SNSD with their partners. Optimistic announcements say that the state government at the state level could be arranged by the end of the month.
Becirovic’s vote for Kristo will probably cause a new wave of discussions and interpretations in the political public of BiH, just like before. However, this ultimately only reflects the complex situation in which all parties operate.
It is so interesting that two days ago Becirovic criticized Milorad Dodik for his interference in the foreign policy of BiH, the same day when Elmedin Konakovic visited Dodik in Banja Luka and talked with him about the formation of the government. To a certain extent, this best illustrates the complexity of the political reality in BiH, Klix.ba reports.
