Today in Mostar, the Federal Minister of Transport and Communications, Adrijana Katić, and the Director of the Radio-Television of Herceg Bosna (RTV Herceg-Bosna), Slavica Koračić, signed an Agreement on allocating three million BAM.
The agreement regulates the use of funds approved for the realization of the project “Improvement of RTV Operations – investing in in-house production capabilities.”
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications stated that the funds were allocated on the basis of the Decision by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on adopting “Expenditure Program of Funds: ‘Current Transfers and Other Current Expenses-Subsidies to Public Enterprises – Enhancement of Broadcasting Activities’,” on the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications.
“In accordance with the cited decision, RTV Herceg-Bosna was allocated funds amounting to 3,015,141 BAM for implementing a project that will improve the production of domestic radio and television content, as well as their broadcasting in HD resolution. The project also predicts improving terms and conditions, enhancing production and technical capacities of study centers in Mostar, Kiseljak, and Orašje, which will further increase the competitiveness of this media house on the market and secure higher-quality and richer programming for viewers and listeners,” said the statement of the Ministry.
Minister Katić emphasized that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, through a programme “Current Transfers and Other Current Expenses – Subsidies to Public Enterprises – improving RTV Operations” allocated just over six million BAM for subsidizing this media outlet over the last three years.
She highlighted that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the competent ministry, recognized this support model as a positive and an efficient way of securing more stable business, and developing radio and TV services.
This method of subsidization proved to be justified and beneficial, which is why there is a clear determination for its continuation in the upcoming years,” said the Ministry, adding that the Ministry will still advocate for measures contributing to the sustainability and development of the media sector, Klix.ba writes.
