The handball players of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second match of group “E” of the European Championship suffered a heavy defeat against the selections of the Netherlands, which won 36:20.
Bosnia and Herzegovina had the huge support of several thousand fans in the stands in Mannheim, Germany, in this match as well.
The Dutch got into the match very well, leading 6:2 after ten minutes. They continued at a great pace and increased their advantage to 12:3. Bh. the handball players were never able to offer any resistance to the Netherlands, which played phenomenally and led by a high 17:7 at the end of the first half.
The Dutch handball players were dominant in the second half as well and in the end they celebrated with a convincing 36:20.
Rutger Ten Velde was the most effective in the Dutch team with nine goals, and Marko Davidović, Nedim Hadžić and Marko Panić in the Bosnia and Herzegovina selection with three goals each.
With this defeat BH. the selection was left without any chance of qualifying from the group stage, after suffering two defeats in the opening two matches against Sweden and the Netherlands.
The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play Georgia in the last round, while the Dutch national team will play Sweden in the fight for first place.
Later tonight, Sweden and Georgia meet in the same group, and the match starts at 8:30 p.m.
In the first round, the BiH team was defeated by Sweden 29:20, while the Dutch defeated Georgia by 34:29, AA writes.
