The provisions of the Law on Border Control, proposed by the Ministry of Security of BiH, regulate, among other things, important issues of border management and harmonize them with the applicable EU acquis, and the adoption of which is important for obtaining a date for the opening of BiH’s negotiations with the EU.
This Law regulates border control and the authorities responsible for border control, border crossings, border crossings and border approvals, border checks and surveillance, as well as the border line and the development of the area along the state line.
It also regulates border incidents, border violations, international border cooperation, weapons transfer, collection of personal data and records, and other issues related to border control.
New definitions of “border boards”, “border markings” and “integrated border management” have been included, as well as the correction of the previous “air carrier” to “carrier”, and the previous item “protected area” has been deleted.
This law was adopted in the House of Representatives without the support of SNSD and Serbian caucus deputies.
Delegates are currently considering the Law on the Protection of Personal Data, BHRT writes.
