The Israelis claim to have killed the Head of the Iranian Army

The exchange of fire between Israel and Iran has escalated into the largest-ever conflict between the two countries. Israel announced before dawn that Iran had stopped its hours-long attacks.

Five people slightly injured in this morning’s Iranian attack

Five people were slightly injured by shrapnel at one of the impact sites at a bus parking lot in central Israel, a spokesman for Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service confirmed.

There were no injuries elsewhere, the spokesman added.

-Three killed in attack on Iranian city

In other news, Iranian media reported that three people were killed in an Israeli attack on the city of Kashan in central Iran.

“In the brutal aggression of the Jewish regime against our Islamic homeland, a checkpoint in Kashan was hit by a missile this morning,” said Akbar Salehi, deputy security officer for the governor of Isfahan province.

Salehi added that four people were injured in the attack.

Israelis: We have killed the head of the Iranian army

The Israeli military claims to have killed the chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces. If confirmed, it would be the latest in a series of assassinations of senior Iranian military officials.

“Following a surprise opportunity during the night, Air Force fighter jets attacked the headquarters in the heart of Tehran. And, thanks to accurate intelligence, they killed Ali Shadmani, the top military commander and the man closest to Iranian leader Ali Khamenei,” the statement said.

Israeli military: Iran launched about 20 ballistic missiles

According to initial estimates by the Israeli military, about 20 ballistic missiles were launched in the latest Iranian attack on Israel.

People are being allowed to leave shelters. Doctors say there are no reports of injuries yet. One missile hit a parking lot in central Israel, causing damage and setting an empty bus on fire. Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire.
