Russia has denied accusations by the United States that members of the armed forces in Ukraine violated an international ban on the use of chemical weapons by using substances including the choking agent chloropicrin.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow respects its obligations under the Treaty on the Prohibition of the Use of Chemical Weapons.
“As before, similar accusations are completely unfounded and have no basis in anything. Russia has always been and remains committed to its obligations in that sector, according to international law,” Peskov emphasized.
America yesterday accused Russia of using the agent chloropicrin against Ukrainian soldiers, and of using “riot control agents in conflicts” in Ukraine, Srna writes.
