The Kremlin is aware of the statement by the United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump about shortening the deadline for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, and is not interested in communication at the highest level, said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

“We have taken note of the statement that President Trump made yesterday,” he said in response to a question, adding that he “wants to avoid commenting” on the statement by the U.S. leader.

Earlier, Trump announced a 50-day deadline for agreements between Russia and Ukraine and threatened to impose 100 percent tariffs on Moscow and its trade partners if an agreement is not reached.

However, on Monday, the U.S. president said he is very disappointed with Russia and the progress in resolution efforts, which is why he is shortening the deadline to 10 to 12 days.

In addition, Trump said he is no longer interested in speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
