The Danish Center for Cyber Security (CFCS) has raised its estimated threat level from destructive cyber attacks to “medium” from “low” due to increasing threats from Russia, Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said.
The “medium” level, or the third on a five-point scale, suggests that there is one or more actors with the intention and capacity to carry out attacks or harmful activities, but that there is no indication of any concrete plans, according to the CFCS.
“More and more often we see that Russia is ready to challenge NATO countries through sabotage, influence campaigns and cyber attacks,” Poulsen said at a press conference.
He added that there is no direct military threat to Denmark, referring to the Danish Defense Intelligence Service, Srna writes.
