The friendly match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israel, which was supposed to be played in Grbavica on Tuesday, March 26, has been cancelled.
Both national teams were eliminated last night in the semi-finals of the play-off for the European Championship. Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated by Ukraine with a score of 2:1, and Israel was defeated by Iceland with a score of 4:1.
The president of the Football Association of Israel, Shino Zoertz, said in a statement to the media that one of the reasons for the cancellation of the match was the tense situation.
“Due to the tense situation, UEFA contacted me as soon as the matches were over and they asked if we could abandon the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is insignificant for both national teams,” he said, Fena news agency writes.
