The number of people killed in the Israeli bombardment of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip has increased to 210, the government press office in the besieged Palestinian enclave announced.
“210 dead and more than 400 injured in the brutal Israeli massacre in the Nuseirat camp were brought to the Al-Aqsa hospital,” the announcement states.
An “urgent appeal was made to the international community and international organizations to save Al-Aqsa Hospital and provide it with medical supplies and generators to ensure its continued operation.”
“Al-Aqsa Hospital is unable to receive the dead and injured due to the Israeli bombardment,” warned the press office in Gaza.
Israel carried out unprecedented violent attacks on areas in the central Gaza Strip, which coincided with a surprise incursion of military vehicles east and northwest of the Nuseirat camp.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that Israeli artillery and warplanes have been carrying out violent and intensive attacks for hours on areas east of Deir al-Balah, Al-Bureij and Al-Magazi camps, as well as various locations in the center, west and east of Nuseirat camp.
Eyewitnesses added that columns of black smoke are rising from all parts of the central Gaza Strip due to the unprecedented aerial and artillery bombardment of these areas.
Israeli vehicles advanced on the Salah al-Din road in the central Gaza Strip.
“Israeli drones are flying intensively over the Nuseirat camp, shooting at anyone moving along the camp’s roads, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries,” the paramedics said.
Eyewitnesses also said that clashes broke out between Palestinian resistance groups and Israeli forces in the eastern part of Deir al-Balah, Al-Bureij and Al-Magazi camps, and north of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA announced that the settlements of Al-Zayton and Tel Al-Hava in Gaza City were also under rocket and artillery fire.
Medical sources at the Baptist Hospital stated that they received four bodies of Palestinians due to the bombing of a house by an Israeli aircraft in Al-Zaytoun settlement, southeast of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military confirmed it had launched a “large-scale and unprecedented attack” on the Nuseirat camp and other areas in the central Gaza Strip.
The army announced that its forces were attacking “infrastructure” in the Nuseirat area.
The Israeli website Walla reported that the Israeli air force is bombing Deir al-Balah and the Nuseirat camp, while naval boats are bombarding the outskirts of Gaza City.
Israel continues its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip despite a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.
More than 36,800 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and more than 83,700 have been injured.
Israel has been accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which in its latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately suspend the operation in Rafah, where more than a million Palestinians sought refuge from the war, Anadolu writes.
