The Presidency of BiH adopted Conclusions on RS’s anti-constitutional Actions

At the proposal of Denis Becirovic, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), at the 22nd extraordinary session of the Presidency of BiH, conclusions were adopted in the first round regarding the escalation of the attacks by the Republika Srpska (RS) entity on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and endangering the constitutional order of the state of BiH, Becirovic’s cabinet announced.

Here are some of the conclusions that were adopted at the extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency:

The BiH Presidency expresses its full commitment to preserving peace, tolerance, justice, common life, human rights, and basic freedoms of the citizens and peoples of BiH. Respect for the principles of constitutionality and legality, democratic authorities, and fair procedures best create peaceful relations within a pluralistic society, therefore it is necessary, with the aim of consistent implementation of the principles of legal security and the rule of law, to immediately stop ultimatums, separatist policies and attacks on the state of BiH and its institutions. Policies that create an atmosphere of fear and (legal) insecurity for all citizens and peoples of BiH do not represent good foundations on which to build and strengthen BiH’s plural society, nor do these policies enable the fulfillment of numerous obligations that the state of BiH has assumed on the basis of the signed international agreements.

Acting contrary to the content of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH and its annexes, seeking to implement a retrograde and separatist policy, the authorities from the entity RS continuously, systematically, and institutionally attack the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH. thereby undoubtedly endangering peace and security in BiH and the region.

Representatives of the International Community, primarily the state witnesses of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH, and especially representatives of the European Union (EU), should stop tolerating the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional policies of the authorities of the RS entity. The passivity of the representatives of part of the International Community additionally encourages the authorities of the RS entity to continue with separatist activities and institutional attacks on the state of BiH and its constitutional and legal order. The EU should implement as soon as possible, following the example of the sanctions of the United States (U.S.) and the United Kingdom (UK), the adopted decision of the European Parliament, which calls for the introduction of sanctions against destructive politicians who openly destroy the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Cvijanovic: Tendentious topics

BiH Presidency member Zeljka Cvijanovic stated in her opening statement at the extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency that the topic of the session on the anti-constitutional moves of the RS is tendentious, with incorrect qualifications, political, and another in a series of attempts to denigrate this entity and hide the real causes of the crisis in BiH.

Cvijanovic stated that she will vote against the conclusions proposed by the member of the Presidency Denis Becirovic, which will make it necessary to organize a second round of voting in the Presidency, as well as that she will use constitutional protection mechanisms in this case as well, as she did at one of the previous sessions.

She pointed out that there is no real threat to peace in BiH or in the region, and that there is no secession either, which is what Becirovic is trying to attract international attention to, N1 reports.
