The price of bitcoin jumped 9.12 percent during the trading session to reach $49,014, according to the information website for digital currencies “Koindesk”.
Later in the day, bitcoin’s value fell to $48,024, still up six and a half percent from the day before.
The last time the price of bitcoin exceeded $48,000 and $49,000 was on December 27, 2021, TASS reported.
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency invented in 2008 by an unknown person or group of people who introduced themselves as Satoshi Nakamoto.
