The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against 11 individuals, four of whom are police officers from the BiH Border Police and three customs officers from the Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) of BiH, for accepting gifts and illicit trade.
The defendants are Sejdin Šarić, Igor Stokić, Mahir Haračić and Armin Šarić, then customs officers from the ITA Bojan Mitrović, Darija Plotan and Dragana Novaković, and officers of the BiH Border Police Sead Tihak, Mladen Nikolić, Elvir Mehinagić and Tedo Dukić, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH announced.
The criminal acts were committed when the defendants, who import large quantities of various goods from Germany, gave gifts in cash or other gifts to customs and Border Police employees at the Kozarska Dubica and Kostajnica border crossings in order to import large quantities of goods into BiH without adequate control.
The defendants are charged with the criminal offenses of conspiracy to commit criminal offenses, giving gifts and other forms of benefit, receiving gifts and other forms of benefit, and illicit trafficking.
The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
