Russian President Vladimir Putin was sworn in at the inauguration in Moscow, taking office and beginning a new term in office.
“I swear that when exercising the powers of the President of the Russian Federation, I will respect and protect human rights and freedoms and the rights and freedoms of citizens, that I will respect and defend the Constitution of the Russian Federation, protect the sovereignty and independence, security and integrity of the state, and that I will faithfully serve the people.” said Putin during the swearing-in ceremony in the Kremlin ceremonial hall.
The ceremony is attended by more than 2,500 guests, including members of the government, members of the State Duma and the Council of the Russian Federation, heads of the presidential administration, judges of the Constitutional Court, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and celebrities.
