With today’s decision by the Cantonal Government, the base was additionally increased by another 10 percent, bringing the total increase in wages under the new collective agreement to 20.7 percent.

After the Government session, the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk stated that healthcare workers are the pillar of our society and that they deserve dignified working conditions.

“Increasing salaries is only one part of the reforms we are implementing. Over the past year, we have abolished the payment of participation fees for healthcare services, resolved waiting lists for all oncology patients and ensured the availability of a new, expanded list of medicines that includes more than 700 forms of medicines. We consider today’s salary increase to be a fair offer in relation to all other departments within the Canton of Sarajevo Government,” said Minister Hasanović, according to a statement from the Canton of Sarajevo Protocol and Press Service.
