The state coalition has not reached any agreement for three months. No law was adopted. The last time the partners met was a month ago – without success. They try as much to sit down at the same table again. The topics of the meeting are piling up, and for none, it is certain, there is or will not be a consensus.
The conditioning of the SNSD continues continuously, the political crisis deepens.
When the line is drawn in this, for now, hopeless situation, the question remains, can the government continue?
Blockades without borders, problems without end and a state coalition that has not been that for a long time. A group without a compass and a common goal burdened with blackmail, national association and disassociation of entities. In an attempt to gather partners, a new condition – the dismissal of those who are bothering the SNSD. Bećirović, Konaković and Lagumdžija.
The reason – the preparation and adoption of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.
“That’s the minimum. Maybe then we can sit down and continue talking. Everything else is out of the question,” said Milorad Dodik, president of SNSD.
“I will do it because of Dodik. He says – we will listen to him. If he had shown an ounce of constructiveness in these opportunities that BiH has, we could have discussed everything”, said Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH (NiP).
Troika has no interlocutor for the conversation. After the intervention of the high representative in the Electoral Law, and then the resolution, there is no more dialogue in the coalition.
“And now we are again asked the question: how to return to a normal agreement. So why did you leave the normal deal? Why did you leave normal work and work based on dialogue, compromise and respect for the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina? You abandoned it, you violated it. Now you will have to deal with the consequences”, said Radovan Kovačević, a delegate in the House of Peoples of BiH (SNSD).
“It’s not strength, it’s Milorad Dodik’s cowardice because he uses blockade mechanisms,” adds Konaković.
Two partners quarreled, the third, HDZ BiH, is wisely silent. At least not officially to either side. HDZ still has a little optimism left to return to its initial positions and move towards its original goal. And we heard that optimism years before.
“I am convinced that we don’t have another way to this European one and that it would be frivolous to stop what we have won with difficulty in some way with some of our adventures,” said Dragan Čović, president of the HDZBiH.
Not much is left of that time. It is unnecessary to talk about the seriousness of the state coalition.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is in a deep political crisis with no way out, and apparently no solution is being sought. In the meantime, we count the sessions of the Council of Ministers, both houses of the state Parliament, but also meetings without a purpose or goal. Laws are discussed exclusively in the past tense, because there have been no reform laws for a long time, nor basic ones such as the BiH budget. So, on the threshold of the collective annual vacation of the parliamentarians, only the flag remained of the European Union in the state institutions.
And behind the flag, the forecasts are not positive.
“The mechanism of passing all laws in BiH is actually in the hands of Čović and Dodik. They dictate the tempo, they are the conductors of the complete state orchestra. I am afraid that this state of affairs will remain until the next elections in 2026. I don’t see any possibility that the state coalition, which currently consists of Troika, SNSD and HDZ, could take any step until ’26. year”, believes Dženan Đonlagić, a delegate in the House of Peoples of BiH (DF).
So a reminder to the coalition to take the helm before it’s too late and miss all opportunities to return to the European Union. The euphoria has long died down.
Although they duly took the credit, and then fulfilled none of the conditions, the green light of the European Council for the opening of negotiations is not in the second plan either. However, no one takes responsibility, but they state that they do not see a way out, and that the others are to blame. Principle is lacking, especially in SNSD. The troika seems powerless, and the HDZ a peaceful observer profiting. Finally, what can the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina expect, if even the leaders are not sure where they are going?, Federalna writes.
