The Storm caused Material Damage worth Millions in Herzegovina

The mayor of Nevesinje municipality Milenko Avdalović said today that the unprecedented storm that hit Herzegovina yesterday caused material damage estimated at millions.

“We still don’t know what caused the greater material damage, because agricultural crops were also damaged, a large number of cars were destroyed, as well as residential buildings,” Avdalović told Radio and Television of Republika Srpska (RTRS).

According to him, the village of Bratača in the area of ​​Nevesinje suffered the most damage, while the Municipal Headquarters for Emergency Situations is assessing the extent of the consequences on the ground.

Anti-hail prevention of Republika Srpska announced that it operated yesterday with a total of 52 anti-hail missiles fired from 22 anti-hail stations in the territory of Republika Srpska, including Herzegovina, which was affected by the supercell storm.

It is said that it was carried out in the areas of Banja Luka, Mrkonjić Grad, Šipovo, Kotor Varoš, Rudo, Čajnič, Kneževo, Bileća, Gacko, Nevesinje and Berković.

Five anti-hail stations were active in the Nevesinje area, firing a total of 16 rockets.
