He donated blood for 100th time at the beginning of the month of June, and thus achieved one of the most important goals in his life.
“It is hard to describe all the emotions that I feel when they wrote down 100th blood donation into my booklet during the last action that was organized a few days ago. Only a true humanist who helps others with donated blood can understand my happiness for this, very important jubilee for me,” said Kafedzic.
He says that he donated blood for the first time on January 7, 1971, as a student of the Geodetic School in Sarajevo. At that time, as an 18-year-old man, he felt very happy for being able to help others, after which he continued this human mission until today.
“I simply love all people, and thus I regularly donate my blood for several decades now, with great pleasure. I am aware of the fact that sick and injured people in different accidents need this precious fluid and thus I use every opportunity to be part of human blood donation actions,” said this great humanist.
According to his rough estimate, he donated more than 30 liters of blood in 100 actions so far, which saved many human lives.
He received numerous awards, diplomas, gold and silver plaques for his great humanitarian work, which he carefully keeps in his apartment. His daughter Jasna, who recently graduated from the Medical School, continued his humanitarian path, and he hopes that his grandson Mahir and granddaughter Lara will continue to nurture this beautiful tradition.
