The US is sending a new $2.2 billion military aid package to Ukraine, which includes air defenses and other munitions, the US Department of Defense announced.
The package comes in addition to $150 million in aid approved separately by President Joseph Biden, the Pentagon said in a statement.
Funds from the larger package will be used to purchase interceptors for the “Patriot” and “Nasams” systems.
The second part of the funds will include missiles for the anti-aircraft system “hok”, ammunition for “haimars”, artillery shells, anti-armor systems “javelin” and missiles “tov”, according to the announcement.
