The White House said on Wednesday that the deployment of US troops to Iran is not currently part of the military strategy of the administration of President Donald Trump, but that options may change in the future.

“That is not part of the plan for this operation at this time,” White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters.

Her statements come in the wake of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, which began on February 28, in which, according to reports, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking security officials were killed.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile attacks directed at Israel and locations in the Persian Gulf countries linked to the United States of America. In those attacks, six American soldiers were killed, while several of them were injured.
