At the solemn event in the ‘American Corner’ in Sarajevo, Ambassador of the USA to BIH Patrick Moon will announce the winners of the three best mobile and web apps dedicated to better transparency, responsibility and decrease of corruption of the government, and the award is 5 000 USD.
More than 70 participants from the entire region applied for this competition.
During programming marathon called Code Spring, which was held at the same time in Belgrade, Sarajevo and Priština, activists, designers and programmers worked together for 2 days to develop 21 apps that solve current social issues of their communities.
‘This is the first time that citizens of BIH have the possibility to choose tools that influence the society in which they live. Regional initiative of foundations Dokukino and TechSoup will support three projects from three countries, and the projects will get 45 000 USD of help’, said president of the ‘Dokukino’ Foundation Vildana Drljević.
At www.communityboostr.org citizens can join and contribute to the best projects and use the ideas for the improvement of their communities.
Project is led by Foundation TechSoup from Poland and ‘Dokukino’ from BiH and Serbia in partnership with UG ‘Zašto ne’ and it is supported by the Balkan Fund for Democracy, Foundation Mot and National Association for Democracy, said the US Embassy to BIH.
