A unique event took place in downtown Toronto, where attendees had the opportunity to witness the toppling of 8.000 giant domino blocks along a 2.5-kilometer route.

The event was organized by 300 volunteers who arranged the large domino blocks in sequence.

The first domino was toppled on Sunday, September 22nd at 4:30 p.m. local time at the intersection of Niagara and Wellington, triggering a chain reaction that passed through the city center all the way to Lake Ontario, near Billy Bishop Airport.

“Domino is a project about connection, and those connections are, of course, physical. It’s movement through the streets, literally linking neighborhoods,” said Ilana Altman, co-executive director of The Bentway Conservancy, which brought the project to Toronto.

She added that Bentway plans to repurpose the domino blocks as building materials.
