The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 39.3 percent, while the share of foreign tourists was 60.7 percent.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was lower by 20.1 percent compared to March 2022 and higher by 23.9 percent compared to April 2021. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists was 2.8 percent higher than in March 2022 and 216.1 percent higher than in April 2021.
Tourists from Serbia had the most overnights stays
In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists in April 2022, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Serbia (20.6 percent), Croatia (17 percent), Slovenia (8.1 percent), Germany (7.3 percent), Montenegro (4.1 percent), Turkey (4 percent), and Austria (3.6 percent) percent) which is a total of 64.7 percent.
According to the length of stay of foreign tourists in BiH, tourists from Qatar with an average stay of 5.9 nights were in the first place, Luxembourg with 4.5 nights, Lithuania with 4.1 nights, France with 3.3 nights, and Japan with 3.1 nights.
In April 2022, there were 18.486 rooms, apartments, and camping places available to tourists in BiH, which is 13.5 percent more than in April 2021, and 40.006 available beds, which is 13.4 percent more than in the same month in 2021.
16.981 rooms available
In April 2022, within the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, a total of 16.981 rooms were available to tourists, which is 11.7 percent more than in April 2021, and 35.362 beds, which is 10.3 percent more than in the same month last year.
The net utilization rate of rooms in April 2022 was 19.2 percent, and permanent beds 14.6 percent, while in April 2021 the utilization rate of rooms was 10.2 percent, and permanent beds 7.7 percent.
According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was realized within the activity hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 93 percent, Avaz writes.
