The popular gastronomic guide Taste Atlas has published the best-rated ground meat dishes, and Travnik cevapi have secured sixth place on the list with a rating of 4.5.
The first place was taken by the Turkish dish tire koftesi, which is made from lamb or a combination of beef and lamb, breadcrumbs, or old bread soaked in milk, garlic, and other spices.
In second place is the well-known Leskovacki rostilj (Leskovac grill), in third place is the American burger, while Turkish Adana kebab and Indian keema stew took fourth and fifth place.
When it comes to other Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) dishes made from ground meat, cevapi (collectively, without specific distinctions between local specialties) also made the list, ranking 11th with a score of 4.4.
Sarajevo cevapi are the 22nd best-rated ground meat dish, while Banja Luka cevapi took 37th place on the Taste Atlas list.
The list also includes a familiar dish – sarma – which is listed as a Turkish dish. It also made it into the top 10, ranking ninth. The Serbian pljeskavica is in 26th place, Klix.ba writes.
