Trial of the Century: Manchester City goes to Court over 115 Counts of Indictment

The champions of England and Europe, Manchester City, agreed on the date of the “trial of the century” in the world of football, as it was called by the British media.

City will face court for breaching 115 Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. The charges were laid in February, and after continued discussions between Manchester City’s lawyers and Premier League leaders, a trial date was agreed.

As reported by the British media, the trial will begin at the beginning of the next season, i.e. in the fall of 2024. The exact start date of the trial is being kept secret and will be behind closed doors.
The current champion of Europe has been accused of violating 115 rules since the 2009/2010 season, when the incredible progress of the club began, which became the most dominant force in English football, as well as in Europe.

If found guilty of the aforementioned offences, City will face the deduction of points, and in the last case, it is possible even to be kicked out of the league or stripped of some trophies, which is less expected.
Manager Pep Guardiola said a few days ago at a press conference that he will probably manage Manchester City even if they are relegated to the third tier of the competition.

Let us remind you that two weeks ago the Premier League severely punished Everton and deducted 10 points for violating financial fair play. The fans of this club were furious that City was not punished, and it is a much bigger spender of money than Everton.

At the same time, the City Football Group states that they expect positive results after the trial in the autumn of next year, Klix.ba reports.
