US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea “in a few weeks.”
“We’ll meet in South Korea in a few weeks and we’ll see what we can do,” Trump told reporters at the White House, where he was hosting Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Trump said he expected to reach a “fair deal” with Beijing after the meeting in South Korea, adding: “I believe that after we leave South Korea, … we will have a very good relationship with China.”
The US president also said the two leaders would discuss a number of issues, without giving details.
He also revealed that he had been invited to visit China and that he planned to travel “early next year.”
