United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump, in a speech at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, commenting on the fact that several powerful countries recognized the state of Palestine, called that act a “reward” for Hamas’s crimes.
Instead of giving in to Hamas’s demands for ransom, Trump emphasizes that those who want peace should be united in one message: that the hostages be released immediately.
This sentence was followed by applause in the hall.
Trump says that the families of Israeli hostages want the bodies of those whom Hamas killed to be returned to them just as strongly as if they were still alive.
He added that he is involved in attempts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and emphasized that “the negotiating sides must finish it.”
“The war in Ukraine should have been a small, quick skirmish”
After the topic of the recognition of Palestine, Trump moved on to the topic of “killing in Ukraine.”
Trump states that he thought it would be the easiest conflict to resolve because of his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, he claims, was always “good.”
“In war, you never know what will happen; there are always many surprises, both good and bad,” he said.
He added that it “should have been a small, quick skirmish,” and the fact that the war has lasted so long makes Russia look bad, not good.
