Trump Shocks Allies, Says Russia Is Making a Concession by Not Taking All of Ukraine

The United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump once again shocked his allies by saying that Russia is making a rather big concession by not taking over the entire Ukraine.

President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that the U.S. is putting pressure on Russia to stop the attacks on Ukraine.

“You have no idea what kind of pressure we’re putting on Russia,” claimed Trump.

Trump was asked about the concessions the Russian government offered in order to reach a peace plan with Ukraine, but he gave a vague answer: “Stopping the war, stopping the conquest of the whole country. Pretty big concession.”

When asked whether he believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “serious” about wanting peace after the deadly attacks on Kyiv this week, Trump replied that he thinks both sides want peace.

“So, we very strongly think that both want peace, but they have to come to the negotiating table. We’ve been waiting a long time. They need to be brought to the negotiating table. And I think we’ll achieve peace,” said Trump while having lunch with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Store.

Trump added that there is a lot of very bad blood, but that he hopes the two nations will reach an agreement.

When asked whether there is a deadline for peace talks, after warnings that the U.S. might pull out of the negotiations, Trump said he has his “own deadline,” but did not specify it.

“I have my deadline and we want it to be quick, and the prime minister is helping us. He wants it to be quick too. I think everyone in this you know, at this point in NATO wants to see this happen. So, we have a deadline. And after that, we have we will have a very different stance. But I think there’s a very good chance this will be resolved,” said Trump, Klix.ba writes.
