Around five tons of Qurban meat will be divided for around 1,000 families, in Maglaj, Doboj, Zepce, and Zavidovici, as well as in Srebrenica.
Abdullah Gul, president of the association, told AA that the slaughter and division of Qurban meat was made possible by Bosniaks who live in Izmir.
“We slaughtered 180 Qurban offerings, of which 30 are in Rogatica, and 150 in Maglaj and Lukavac, after which the meat is collected in one place and divided among the Majlises of the Islamic Community, which will further divide the meat. In this way, Bosniaks who live in Turkey decided to help Bosniaks in BiH, certainly in places affected by the floods. We believe that around five tons of meat will come in handy to everyone,” said Gul.
One of the Majlises that will receive meat for distribution is the Zepce Majilis. Imam Irdin ef. Tutnjic, the second imam of the city mosque, told AA that the meat will be welcome to the most vulnerable.
“We came today to take the hedi of our brothers in Turkey, from the Bosna-Sandzak Association in Izmir. We drove 214 Qurban lambs for Zepce, and each bag with Qurban meat weighs four to five kilograms, which is almost a ton of Qurban meat. On behalf of the imam of Zepce, the president of the Zepce Majlis, on my own behalf and all the worshipers and residence who suffered through the catastrophic floods and damages this year, I want to sincerely thank you,” said ef. Tutnjic, adding:
“Qurban meat will primarily be divided among all worshipers who were unable to afford much meat this year. In addition, the Majlis and the city of Zepce itself were affected by the floods twice in a year, in May and August, and unfortunately this year we had many more beneficiaries for whom this meat will come in handy.”
After the Qurban meat is divided among the Majlises, the remaining portion will be given to the residents of Maglaj.
