Tuzla’s Pannonian Lakes Ready for Record Summer as Tourist Numbers Rise

Although the official swimming season at Tuzla’s famous Pannonian Salt Lakes begins tomorrow, the popular lake complex has already been attracting large numbers of visitors eager to enjoy the warm weather.

Preparations for the new season have been completed, with infrastructure improvements carried out across the complex. Despite the upgrades, ticket prices remain unchanged following a successful and financially positive season last year.

“We expect a long and warm summer, which is the most important factor for us. Our goal is to achieve more than 460,000 visits this season,” said Maid Porobić of JKP Pannonica.

In addition to swimming and recreation, visitors can look forward to a packed calendar of summer events. The summer season in Tuzla, often known as the “City of Salt,” will officially begin on June 13 with a concert by a regional music star.

The city will also host the popular Kaleidoscope Youth Festival, while tourism officials are optimistic that newly introduced and restored air routes operated by Wizz Air will significantly increase international arrivals.

“We are already seeing positive effects from the new flights,” said Amra Jaganjac of the Tuzla Tourist Board. “Our colleagues at the Tourist Information Center report a noticeable increase in visitors from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, particularly thanks to the Bratislava route.”

Another attraction for tourists this summer will be the sightseeing bus service, which operates daily between Tuzla’s city center and the Pannonian Lakes, making the unique saltwater destination even more accessible.

With improved infrastructure, expanded flight connections, and a busy cultural calendar, Tuzla is preparing for what could be one of its most successful tourist seasons yet.
