United States (U.S.) adventurer Liam Garner, who is currently in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), revealed that while riding his bicycle, he was attacked and robbed by a group of men.
Namely, the adventurer who is followed by half a million people on social media shared on Instagram a photo in which he explained that he had been robbed, but that he managed to get his things back and record their license plates.
After that, he shared a video in which he is attacked by a man next to a gas station in Foca. In the caption of the video, he wrote “moments before disaster.”
As can be seen in the video, an unknown man approaches him, physically attacks him, and demands that he put down the camera. He soon leaves, but continues to verbally insult him. However, after the U.S. adventurer turns the camera to say that he has just been attacked and robbed, the man returns again to physically confront him.
“I was just robbed on my last kilometers in BiH, but this time, it was like a real robbery. A bunch of guys stopped me and attacked me, but I managed to get my things back and film their faces and license plates, thank God. I’m trying to file a report with the police. Last memory from BiH,” he wrote via Instagram story.
However, thanks to the reaction of a female citizen, adventurer Liam managed to report the incident to the police.
“I’m fine. I met this incredible BiH woman in town, and she helped me get to the police station to file a report. I showed them the video, and it turned out they already knew exactly who those guys were (multiple local offenders), so they are already in trouble,” he stated.
In the end, he said that everything ended well and that his meeting with this woman proved that incidents should never reflect a certain place or country.
“Although it was a super random and unpleasant experience, meeting this woman and getting help afterwards just proves that these moments are always random and should never reflect a certain country or place, and best of all, I got all my things back, so in the end it was the best possible scenario,” he said.
Liam Garner, at only 17 years old, set off by bicycle from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska and rode all the way to Ushuaia in Argentina, thus becoming the youngest person to complete this journey. He is currently on a new adventure, cycling from Portugal to Singapore, Klix.ba writes.
