The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Bosnia and Herzegovina, John Ginkel, congratulated Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan on his election victory.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ginkel held a “substantive and productive meeting” with Karan and former acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić-Babić, during which they discussed partnership, cooperation and improving opportunities for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Republika Srpska.
“The United States remain committed to constructive cooperation with Republika Srpska and partners across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of expanding shared opportunities, strengthening long-term stability and encouraging U.S. investment that will contribute to a more prosperous future for both our countries,” the Embassy said in a statement.
Karan was sworn in earlier on Tuesday and officially assumed the office of President of Republika Srpska.
