U.S. Embassy to Host U.S. Marines for Training Exercise

On May 17, United States Embassy to BiH will host U.S. Marines who will be participating in a week-long training program with U.S. Embassy security service personnel.   Host nation partnership training with SIPA-Special Services Unit, Sarajevo Canton Police and the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies will also take place.

This week-long training exercise gives participants an opportunity to practice tactics and procedures alongside their U.S. Embassy and host nation counterparts and to prepare in the event of an emergency.   Preparations for this exercise began in early February.

These types of exercises are designed to improve interoperability, understanding and cooperation between the Diplomatic Security Service, U.S. Marine units, and host nation security forces.
