The European Football Federation /UEFA/ started a disciplinary procedure against the Albanian Football Federation /FSHF/ due to incidents during yesterday’s European Football Championship match between the national teams of Albania and Italy in Dortmund.
In its statement, UEFA states that the procedure was initiated due to the invasion and throwing of various objects onto the field and the lighting of fireworks by Albanian fans during the match, and “sending provocative messages inappropriate for a sporting event”.
The European football federation has not released other details about the message that was sent.
In today’s fan clashes in the German city of Gelsenkirchen, an England supporter and a policeman were injured.
According to some reports, Albanians were involved in causing the violence, Srna writes.
